EV Tuesdays: Week 31
14th June 2022

Happy Tuesday EV Owners!

A new week is upon us already and we have a cracking line up for you this week.

A quick note before we jump in. Enjoying EV Tuesdays? Please Share...

EV Cables is a small UK-based startup on a mission to help drive the adoption of electric vehicles and create a more sustainable future. EV Tuesdays is our way of connecting and giving back to the community, whilst helping to grow awareness of our business. We'd be extremely grateful if you could share the newsletter sign-up page with your friends, which also gives them 5% off their first order with us (and if you'd like the voucher code too visit evcables.co.uk and live chat with us). It really makes a huge difference to us and we promise to pack as much value as possible into each weekly edition. Just click here for FacebookTwitterLinkedin sharing and we've written a quick template below if it's helpful.

Each week we will bring to you 5 different tools, tutorials, podcasts, pretty much anything we can find to help you with your electric car.

Feel free to let us know if there is anything in particular you want to know about....we will get our little fingers tapping at the internet for you and see what we come up with.

Don't forget we will be posting these on our social media channels including Facebook, Reddit (check out r/evcables subreddit) & Twitter, head over and give us a follow, like or an upvote. If it is an extra item you would like, visit our blog right here.

Until then, grab a drink, click on the links below and enjoy this weeks 5 items.

1. EV News: Electrek

The number of consumers looking to buy electric vehicles has hit 52%, according to the latest EY Mobility Consumer Index (MCI). This is the first time the number has exceeded 50%, and it represents a rise of 22 percentage points in just two years.

2. EV Stats: Twitter

UK drivers are paying nearly £100 to fill up a family car. An EV owner would save more than £63. Simon Evans, an award winning journalist, has been looking at some data regarding EV owners and regular car drivers in the UK.

3. EV Tip: Use a Smartphone App

Running an EV? There’ll be a car maker app for that, too. Whether it’s checking the level of charge in the battery, locking or unlocking the doors or telling the car when to start charging, a smartphone app will enhance the experience of running an EV.

There are useful third party apps too, including the Zap-Map EV charging app and Google Maps, with the latter including an electric vehicle charging page.

4. EV Stranded: The Verge

Ford surprises F-150 Lightning owners with accessory that can recharge stranded Teslas. Ford has been vocal about the new F-150 Lightning’s bi-directional charging capability that enables owners to use the electric truck’s massive battery to charge other EVs. And, now, the company is apparently including a new accessory so these Good Samaritan truck owners can help out stranded Teslas.

5. EV Video: Fully Charged

Each week we will bring to you another episode in the 'Maddie Goes Electric' range. Here's the fourth episode of the Fully Charged Show's 6 part series - Clean Energy for your electric car (A beginner's guide)

Blog Version Extra:

6. EV Charge: The Driven

Most Australian drivers planning to buy an electric vehicle “within the next few years” want vehicle-to-load or vehicle-to-grid technology, a recent survey conducted by The Driven and Jet Charge reveals.

Until next time. Have a fantastic week!
