EV Tuesdays: Week 33

EV Tuesdays: Week 33
28th June 2022

It's that time of week again EV Lovers! Happy Tuesday! Today is the day you get to have a look at what we have in store for you.

This week there will be 5 different pieces of exciting electric car goodness. You can enjoy an app, a question, some news and maybe a forum to look at.

So, grab yourself a drink, be it hot or cold depending on what time of day it is, a biscuit or a packet of crisps, open up the 5 links and enjoy.

We'll also be posting these to our blog hereTwitter, Facebook, Reddit (check out r/evcables subreddit) so get involved and give us any ideas in the comments, they may well get used next week!

1. EV APP of the Week: Plugshare

Download the most accurate EV and Tesla charging station map. Find EV charging stations, leave reviews, and connect with other plug-in vehicle drivers.

It’s the most accurate and complete public EV charging map worldwide, with stations from every major network in North America, Europe, and throughout much of the globe.

2. EV Question:

Take a look at our question of the week. Pop us an email, comment on Twitter, Facebook, Reddit or at SpeakEV with your favourite colour. You never know, we may produce the most popular colour.

What colour charging cable would you buy?

3. EV Tip: Watch your Accessories

We’re not suggesting that you avoid using the heated seats, climate control or infotainment system, but each one will put a dent in your predicted range. Charge your smartphone at home, rather than in the car.

Don’t get cold: heated seats consume less energy than the heater, so stick them on for a bit of warmth.

4. EV News: Goodwood.com

Stop what you're doing. The outright Goodwood Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard Hill record has just been broken by Max Chilton in his McMurtry Spéirling fan car.

The time? 39.08 seconds, which beats Nick Heidfeld's previous Timed Shootout record of 41.6 seconds which has stood since the 1999 Festival of Speed.

5. EV Video: Fully Charged

Each week we will bring to you another episode in the 'Maddie Goes Electric' range.

In this final episode of Fully Charged Show's 6 part series “Maddie Goes Electric” - a beginner's guide to electric cars, Maddie Moate chats to Robert Llewellyn to share her experiences of getting and living with her first electric car.
